How to Add Stock Items in Stock Groups in Tally.ERP 9

As your business grows, it is general thing, you will buy more products for selling it to the customers who is buying other items from your business. 

But, its accounting record may give you the tension because  with stock items records in tally, you can not know what is the closing stock of specific product. For this, you to check all the stock items and if this list of 100,000 stock item, there may be more difficulty because finding one stock item out of one lack stock item will be really difficulty from inventory statements. Tally.ERP 9 software has still solved this problem. But for this, you should know the process of it. Tally gives you the option to add different stock items to different stock groups.

For example, if you have added one lakh stock items in one thousand stock groups. To track specific stock items stock from one out of one thousand stock group will more easy than deep inspection of one lakh stock items. This learning will save your time, energy and money which is big cost for your business. Same time, money and energy, you can use in other big projects of your business.

Following are the simple steps of Adding Stock items in Stock group fastly.

1. First of all write on the blank paper  which stock group you have to make. For example, if there are lots of books which you want to sell, you can make books as stock group. There may be lots of stationery. For this, you can make stationery group. If you have lots of home devices, you can make home device group.

2. Now, go to inventory info in the gateway of Tally.ERP 9. Create groups by click on stock groups button. You can create major stock groups like books, stationeries, home devices, clothes etc. Keep it under primary.

3. Now, go to stock items. Then go to  multi-stock items alteration. All stock items will be under primary stock group. You just add it in suitable stock group. For example, educational books will add in books group. Pencils will add in stationery group. Milk filter will add in home devices group. Like this, you have to keep each stock item under different stock group.  Now, save it.

4. If you want to create new stock item, you should see under option in stock creation form. Write name of stock item and keep it under suitable stock group. If there is no stock group, you can make new stock group by pressing short cut Alt+ C.
