There is no direct relation of decreasing the value of short term mutual funds with share market. Reality is that it is affected by changing the rules of Short term date funds by SEBI. We can estimate it with the fact that 1.22 lakh crore loss is of short term fund out of total loss of 1.3 lakh crore.
On the other side, equity funds's value increased by 4300 crore rupees. SEBI had given the order to evaluate these funds on the basis of market prices. After this, calculation of return on these funds has become difficult. Corporate companies are not investing in these funds.
If properly SEBI rules will apply, short term funds will again rise with better financial product.
