She has faith me as Guru of Accounting. I accepted her proposal but before teaching her " how to teach corporate accounting?" I am interested to teach to all teachers who are fresh to teach this tough subject.

  • Clear theoretical Concepts of your students because if there is doubt of fundamental regarding practical problem of corporate accounting topics, your student will not succeed to solve the problem. I suggest to teacher to take some time to each topic before teaching it to classroom.
  • Keep your Eye on latest changes and amendments  of Company law 1956. Because every corporate accounting practical question will change if any new provision will happen in company law 1956 or any amendment will happen in this law. For this write "corporate accounting" and "company law 1956" in your google alert and scan what you find from google alert feed. It will be the golden rule to teach corporate accounting better way.

1. Share Capital

This lesson was made for the purpose to provide the knowledge to student how to treat share capital at the time of application, allotment and with calls. But from practical point of view, you have to learn table in which you have to adjust excess application money with allotment and calls of shares. Practical questions are so technical and if you teach it in which you solve these sums, it will represent your specialization on this topic. This is also important topic from examination point of view. I like accounting treatment of forfeited shares and reissue in this topic.

2. Preference Shares

In this topic, you have teach, how to pass the journal entries relating to preference shares which have preference regarding getting dividend and return money at the time of liquidation of company. But this topic is easy than share capital.

3. Debentures

Debentures means loan which is taken by company from public which is different from small loan and proper treatment at the time of issue with different method, you have to teach. You also teach how to redeem debentures at the time of maturity. Concentrate your energy on Debenture Sinking Fund and Insurance policy techniques to repay the debenture to public. Many practical problems are most popular from examination point of view in this section.

4. Underwriting of Shares and Debentures

In this section, you have to teach how to make statement which showing the liability of underwriters. If you succeed to teach this by solving example, it means you succeed to teach this whole topic. This is very important.

5. Right Shares and Bonus Shares

This is very simple topics and just teach to make journal entries relating to this.

6. Managerial Remuneration

This is tough lesson and you have to look new provision before teaching this lesson and also has to learn the system and technique for this. Provisions regarding this are changing fastly. So, be ready to read and then teach how to calculate managerial remuneration.

7. Final Accounts of Company

This is almost same as making of final accounts of individual and firms but it is made under rules and regulation of company law and it is compulsory. So, read, study and make its proforma by your own hand and then use white or blackboard for teaching your students. If you have power to solve final accounts of company and teach it correctly, then nobody stops your students to become accountants in company. All company demands final accounts from accountants which have to be audited from CA.

8. Other Topics

There are many other topics which you have to teach in corporate accounting. Sometime, your student may be anger when they do not understand topic from you. At that time, it will be challenged for you all these topics with new ways which should be interesting and funny. So that your student will enjoy to learn under your guidance. Ok, take care and feel proud and happy to teach corporate accounting for making your students as future company accountants.
