Yesterday , Mamata Banerjee presented railway budget 2009 -10 .You know that budget is scientific tool to control the expenses of Govt. Of course it is also estimation of expenses and incomes of railway department of India . But Indian Govt. also has to see the welfare of poor and middle class Indians and this railway budget is fulfil the need of middle class Indians .
According to The Economics times gross profit will increase by 7.3% .But it is also estimated that cash surplus will 8722 crore in 2009-10 but in 2008 - 2009 , it was Rs. 12683 crores . It mean source of earning of Railway will decrease but after this Rail minister Mamata Banerjee has not increased the passenger fares and railway freight .

Govt. of India has fixed Train fare Rs 299 for distances up to 1500 km and Rs 399 for distances up to 2500 km.
67 new trains will be run and 12 new trains will be run non stop from New Delhi .

Immediately reservation fees will be decreased from Rs. 150 to Rs. 100
Present Government has made new and additional 3000 unreserved ticketing terminals and you can also get computerised tickets from 5000 post offices across the country . It will surely efficiency and save the time of passengers for getting tickets . Railway minster also said that they are also planning to make automatic ticket vending machines for fast process of distributing the tickets to passengers .
Railway budget also made provisions of providing the facilities of Doctors in Trains which will be available for free help to passengers .
Ministry of railways said that we will increase protection of passengers and special security guards will be appointed in new 140 stations of India .
Rail budget 2009 also provides 25 Rupees pass for poor passenger's travelling and also will provide the welfare facilities to Railway employees .
In current financial year 2009 -10 , Railways ministry will purchase new railways coaches by order of Rs. 472 crore and but numbers coaches will also decrease from 18000 to 11000 .
Railway budget also explains to adopting new system for earning from railways . Govt. of India will control with builders and allow them to make business centers on every corner of Railway stations .
In the business of fruits and vegetables , approximate Rs. 37000 crores loss is due to rot and putrefy . For preventing this New railway food hubs will be opened .

According to my opinion , amendments in the old budget is fully concentrate on poor and middle class Indians . I think it will decrease the saving capacity from 24 paise per rupee to 7.5 paise per rupee but long term earning and saving capabilities of Indian railways will increase .
